The Creator

A Texas sky stretches across the horizon and I pray. As I sit and dwell on my surroundings, each color of the sky melts over miles and miles of land and splendor belonging to The Lord who takes care of all of it. How beautiful it is to sit in the vastness of what God has created. As my thoughts and prayers went on, a specific thought came into my head: The human race is frequently amazed by creation, but less often amazed by the Creator. People travel for miles and miles to see the wonders of the world. Some people marvel over small increments of creation, and some people search for more undiscovered creation under the sea. Why don't people marvel at and search for the Creator? If the creation is wonderful and indescribable, shouldn't the Creator be even more wonderful and indescribable? As we ventured around Texas this week, I took many moments to dwell in the vastness of God's creation. Whether it was a long vine that climbed an airport wall, a huge thunderstorm that shook the house, my incredible boyfriend, or tiny bugs that flew over the hot tub late at night, I was intrigued. So many moments in life that seem so simple are actually quite fascinating if you let your heart and mind wonder into thoughts of curiosity and gratefulness.

Each day I am surrounded by the Lord's blessings, I should embrace them not overlook them. I also should remember that I am a part of God's creation and
He sees me as the most important part. This morning I was reminded that I can't earn God's love and I can't lose it, but I can resist it or ignore it. But, why would I? Sometimes I forget, sometimes my heart wanders, but no matter what, I can rest assured that the same Creator that painted the Texas sky that my eyes are taken aback by created me and loves me. Sometimes, God just wants us to
"be still
and know that He is God."
Psalms 46:10

I just have to make the decision to be still in surrender before Him.
For the past couple of months I have gotten to know Noah's great-grandmother; we call her Ma. She is a woman who loves The Lord and is such a light. I am thankful for the time Noah and I get to spend with her. Just recently she had a birthday. As she was opening her gifts, she pulled out a shirt that said: "I can only imagine." This often reminds one of what heaven will be like. Then, someone asked her: "What do you think it'll be like when we get to heaven Ma?" Her response was beautiful. She talked in an excited, hopeful voice about how her sight and hearing would be restored completely. No more glasses or hearing aids. It would be beautiful. As I listened and watched, I was overjoyed. I had watched Ma look at a sunrise before and knew that she wanted to see the intricate details of it. It hit home for me. I then realized that Ma was expressing a wondrous picture of not just how God restores us physically, but also how Christ redeems and restores our hearts through salvation. One day when we get to heaven, we will be completely restored in Him in every way. Christ desires that all of his creation be restored through his Son, Jesus. We don't deserve to be embraced by God, the Creator. The thing is though, God wants to redeem and restore us, He wants to embrace us. God loves us. Once we accept this love, every sin is erased.
Christ redeems me,
I am set free
and one day I will be completely purified in every way.
So, I encourage you to fall in love with Creator God, who loves you deeply.
